LED Blinky – Dual LED Flasher Kit
Easy Do-It-Yourself Kit or Bare Board
The LED Blinky is one of our simplest projects ever. Assembles in about 15 minutes and will get attention when worn. This circuit is a very simple LED flasher, alternating between two LEDs.
With only a limited number of components, the effects are eye-catching. Consists of two transistors, two capacitors, four resistors, two LEDs, the PC board, and a battery. A novice assembles this system in a matter of minutes with standard parts from around your workbench.
The LED Blinky is available in several configurations. Assembled units, a kit of components you can build, or the bare board, the choice is yours. Using the empty board allows you to supply your own parts.
Average assembly of the system in less than 15 minutes is possible. The PC board is a high-quality, double-sided design, complete with solder masks on both sides. Plated holes along with a high-contrast silk-screen labeling component positions and measuring only 1.2” x 1.2” (31mm x 31mm). The design allows for a variety of sizes of LEDs including 3mm, 5mm models, all the way up to the large 10mm models. The best effect is using LEDs with a frosted lens. This produces a beautiful glow as opposed to regular LEDs which produce a spotlight effect.
