Do you need a quick way to convert a 5-15V DC voltage down to a regulated 1.25V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, or 5V fixed voltage output? Our Mini Step Down Power Converter Board offers this in a small 31mm x 21mm (1.2″ x 0.8″) easy to connect package.

The outputs are set by installing a solder jumper across the pads for the various voltage output options. With no solder jumper installed, the output voltage defaults to 1.25V output.

The module is built around the MP1495 buck chip with a power conversion efficiency of up to 90%. The fixed outputs offer more stable output accuracy and performance than a potentiometer-based voltage converter module.

Unlike Linear regulators, the modules operate in a high-efficiency operation mode delivering up to 90% efficiency. For example, setting up the board to deliver 5V at 2A output from a 12V power source will only require approximately 0.9A input. An excellent solution for battery-operated devices or where lower regulated output voltages are needed.

Connection and Voltage Setting

The output voltage is set by soldering a jumper across the desired voltage option. Not jumpering any set of solder pads will default to an output voltage of 1.25V.

DC power from 5-15V DC is applied to the IN+ and IN- terminals and regulated voltage as set by the jumpers appears to the OUT- and OUT+ terminals.
